Community Forests in the Northwest: Addressing Barriers & Advancing Solutions

On May 9-10, 2016, Sustainable Northwest and the World Forestry Center will co-host the Third Annual Community Forest Forum in Portland, Oregon. This is the only regional community forest conference and networking event focused on community forests in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Northern California.

The event includes a networking reception followed by a day of panels, in-depth presentations, and facilitated exercises that aim to elevate understanding and awareness of community owned forests as a model to sustain working forest lands. The workshop offers a chance to earn 9.5 Continuing Education Credits through the Society of American Foresters.

This year, we are excited to announce a new optional half-day field tour on Day 1 of the event! We will visit the Mt. Adams Community Forest in Glenwood, WA and Hood River County Forest in Oregon and return in time for the evening programming. Space is limited, and seats will be reserved on a first-come first-served basis.

Who should attend?

Registration is open to all individuals, organization and businesses engaged in the development of community forests in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Northern California.
