Lemhi Forest Restoration Group enjoys the views at a Meadow Restoration site on Anderson Mountain
The Lemhi Forest Restoration Group and the Salmon-Challis National Forest hosted Darren Parker and Amy Taylor of Idaho Senator James Risch's staff on a tour of the collaboratively designed Upper North Fork project last Wednesday. About 25 people attended the tour and then followed up at the North Fork Fire Station with a discussion about the future of public lands management and the upcoming Forest Plan Revision. The Upper North Fork project encompasses 41,000 acres, addressing community wildfire protection for Lost Trail Ski Area, Highway 93 and the Gibbonsville community; whitebark pine and aspen regeneration, and meadow restoration. Logging along the Anderson Mountain Road is expected to start this fall to help achieve project objectives.
